I’m sorry to hear about your frustration with this situation. To clarify, this was a personal property sale, not a real estate transaction, and I was not acting as an agent in any capacity—only providing access to the home on behalf of the seller. My understanding is that, unfortunately, you were not able to secure financing within the required timeframe, which, per the contract, allowed the seller to retain the earnest money. Additionally, the funds were given directly to the seller, and the decision regarding their retention was solely theirs. I wish you the best moving forward.
